This presentation details the results of a study using the Community Readiness model for change to identify the level of knowledge and support political leaders in a small village in northwest Tanzania have for community development efforts including assistance in the construction of and infrastructure needed for a clinic and secondary school. Findings suggest that opportunities should be sought to increase the participation of village leaders and other interested parties to foster sustainability of the capacity building efforts. Dr. Kost's research was supported by a 2011-12 Civic Engagement Research Fellowship.
