This workshop will present hands-on, interactive, practical information on how to conduct qualitative research interviews. We will cover the rationale for qualitative interviewing and which types of studies lend themselves to this approach, the components of qualitative interviews and the skills required, and “dos and don’ts” for the interviewer along with examples of good and bad interviews. The workshop will also allow participants to practice and critique their own interviewing skills.

At the end of the workshop participants will be able to: 1. Know when a qualitative interviewing study is the right approach 2. Identify the components of qualitative interviewing 3. Develop qualitative interviewing skills.
