Networking Your Way to a Successful Career (3-4PM):
In the 30+ years since he graduated from UB, Bob Harrison has worked for 7 different companies in diverse industries with companies that were large and small and both publically traded and privately owned. Bob is currently Vice President of Engineering and Construction at Transmission Developers, Inc. in New York City.Bob will discuss and answer questions about his career and the thought processes behind each company/industry change and how he leveraged his network of contacts to advance his career.
A Woman's Perspective of a Career in Engineering: Challenges, Highlights and Rewards (4-5PM):
Allison O'Connor, currently the Business Unit Operations Lead at Moog, shares her experiences and observations about the challenges, opportunities, and rewards that females face with a career in engineering, including insights on how both genders can help address these challenges, leading to a more effective engineering workforce, more enjoyable workplaces, and more rewarding careers.Allison will discuss and answer questions about her career and her passion for aerospace engineering and the critical role that females must play in its development.
