Sy Lecture Hall
Part of the Ellicott Complex, the Albert P. Sy Lecture Hall is used for centrally scheduled classes.
Namesake
Chemistry professor at UB for 53 years, and the first to earn his PhD from the university, Albert P. Sy joined the School of Pharmacy in 1895. He pioneered in the detection of poisons and the isolation of harmful fumes in industry. He was chair of the Department of Chemistry from 1908 to 1931 and served on the University Council for 25 years.
