Although 2020 was a year of great challenges, many of us are now starting to think about travel plans in the not-too-distant future.  After spending months in lockdown, we’re all dreaming of our first post-COVID trip.  With the world-wide distribution of the COVID19 vaccines growing, and as countries begin to reopen borders and lift travel restrictions, your next trip is becoming a very real possibility. But you’re probably wondering – what will travel look like in the ‘new world’? This webinar will look to answer your questions on what to expect when you are traveling in a post-covid world and how tour operators and destinations are working feverishly to make sure all safety protocols are followed.  We will also explore the exciting destinations the UB Alumni Travel Program will be visiting in 2022.

About Sarah Doody
Sarah Doody is a consultant, hired by the UB Office of Alumni Engagement, to launch and oversee their UB Alumni Travel Program.  As the Program Coordinator, her role focuses on the implementation and management of UB Alumni Travel Program, as well as acting as the UB liaison between the University, alumni and travel providers.

From 2001 to 2015, Sarah was the Director of Alumnae Leadership Development, Engagement and Enrichment with the Bryn Mawr College Alumnae Association where her duties included taking on the management of their alumnae travel program. Under her leadership, the alumnae travel program grew from 14 travelers in 2006, to more than 375 in 2015 and from 1 trip to 18 programs.

Upon leaving Bryn Mawr College in 2015, she launched her own travel consulting company, Engaging Journeys, Inc. - a company dedicated to supporting colleges, universities and membership organizations in the implementation and management of educational and affinity travel programs. She continued to manage the Bryn Mawr Travel Program as a consultant through 2018. In working with her clients, Sarah puts to use her more than 15 years of expertise in the affinity travel industry. Her company enables clients to launch alumni travel programs without any additional staffing costs or resources from the institution.  Sarah’s background as a corporate banker prior to her time at Bryn Mawr has enabled her to utilize valuable marketing and analytical skills from the business and apply it to the world of alumni travel.  A key aspect to her approach is a strategic marketing plan which engages new travelers while continuing to cultivate past travelers.

In addition to the UB Alumni Travel Program, her company currently manages travel programs for: Swarthmore College, Case Western Reserve University, Main Line School Night Lifelong Learning Program, Gettysburg College, Franklin and Marshall College and the University of Denver.

The daughter of two educators, Sarah learned at a young age the joy and wonder of travel. She has traveled to all 7 continents and over 70 countries. Sarah graduated with honors and holds an AB from Franklin and Marshall College in Sociology and Economics.
