Now dean emeritus of the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Anderson has been a vigorous advocate for UB since joining the faculty as an assistant professor in 1968, nearly 50 years ago.
After becoming dean in 1997, he helped secure some of the largest gifts to the school and the university. He oversaw the design and construction of Kapoor Hall, along with the campaign to raise construction funds. During this time, UB became the first school in the state to offer a doctoral degree in pharmacy. Anderson also worked to establish dual degree programs, expanding pharmacy students’ education options, and to maintain UB’s position as a key partner in state wellness and health care.
