Michael Garz, BA ’72
Garz is senior vice president of the buildings and facilities division for STV Inc., an architecture, engineering and construction management firm.
He oversees its engineering and architectural design practices in New York, Baltimore and New England. He also is design manager and project architect for the World Trade Center Transportation Hub. Built on the former Twin Towers site, the complex joins 11 subway lines, commuter PATH trains serving New Jersey and Long Island, and a web of pedestrian passages. Garz, a registered architect in 13 states, as well as Ontario and Alberta, Canada, is a member of the American Institute of Architects. A native of Brooklyn, Garz was in UB’s first class of architecture and planning graduates, and earned a BA in environmental design.
