ROBERT JACOBY, MS '80
Jacoby spent his 34-year career in the energy industry for Royal Dutch Shell, including several positions in the Middle East and Europe. He also served as a board or committee member of a number of organizations, including the Marine Preservation Association, the Western States Petroleum Association and The International Process Safety Group based in London.
Robert (Rob) Jacoby, MS ’80, spent his 34-year career in the energy industry, most recently as enterprise category manager, maintenance and engineering services for Royal Dutch Shell. He led a global team responsible for the development and execution of a global contracting and procurement strategy for maintaining worldwide operating assets and delivering engineering services. In addition, he supported business unit initiatives, including the development of maintenance and contracting strategies for large capital projects in countries such as Iraq, Kazakhstan and Qatar. Prior to that position, he was global manager of Shell Global Solutions’ International Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) consultancy group based in The Hague where he led a team of scientists that provided research and development support in areas such as process technical safety, Product Regulatory Support, and environmental litigation. He also served on the leadership team that provided strategic direction to executive management and as U.S. Regional Manager–HSE Consultancy at Shell’s Technology Center in Houston.
