Electrical violations:

Below are restrictions for using extension cords:

• Extension cords and flexible cords cannot be used as a substitute for permanent wiring
• Extension cords can only be used with portable appliances
• Extension cords and flexible cords cannot be affixed to structures, extended through walls, ceilings, floors, under doors or floor coverings and must not be subject to environmental damage or physical impact

Other Electrical:

• Adapters that are multi-plug are non-compliant and prohibited
• Electrical panel box clearance not maintained near workspace settings
• Portable heaters not plugged into a wall outlet directly
• Workspace clearance not maintained in front of electrical panel box
• Daisy chaining power strips (i.e. plugging one power strip into another)

Fire and life safety violations:

• Combustible waste materials accumulating in a building or structure
• Combustible materials stored in exits, boilers, mechanical, or electrical rooms
• Ceiling clearance not maintained (Sprinklered rooms 18”; Non-sprinklered rooms 24”)
• Obstructed access to fire department equipment
• Fire extinguishers obstructed or obscured from view
• Non-portable appliances not plugged directly into a wall outlet
• Exits obstructed, blocked by furnishings, decorations or not readily available for use
• Fire department equipment obstructed access to

• Width of exit aisle required not maintained near workspace settings
• Exits obstructed, blocked by furnishings, decorations or not readily available for use
• Required width of exit aisle not maintained
• Quantities of flammable liquids exceed maximum allowed per control area
