State employees represented by CSEA and PEF may enroll in the
Over40 Comp Time II Pilot Program to earn compensatory time instead
of overtime pay.
The Over40 Comp Time II Pilot Program (Over40 II) allows for eligible employees to choose to earn compensatory time at the time and one-half rate in lieu of overtime pay for overtime worked in excess of 40 hours in a workweek.
Enrolled employees may accumulate up to 240 hours of Over40 II
The credits have no expiration date and cannot be charged as a leave accrual. However, employees can cash out up to 120 hours of accrued Over40 II credits once per year.
You must record overtime compensatory time on your time sheet as a separate leave category.
Employees represented by CSEA and PEF who are in overtime-eligibile positions allocated to salary grades 22 and below are eligible to enroll.
To enroll in the 2017-18 program year of Over40 II, you will need to complete the Over40 Comp Time II Pilot Program Enrollment Form and submit it to UB Human Resources no later than close of business on May 15, 2017. Employees who enroll in the 2017-18 program year will be eligible to receive Over40 II credits for 26 pay periods beginning June 29, 2017.
You may opt to participate in this program for one or more program years during the term of the pilot, but do not need to participate in all of the program years. Once you enroll for a program year, you cannot withdraw and must participate for the entire program year as long as you continue to be employed in an overtime-eligible position in a participating bargaining unit. Participation also continues if you move to another agency and remain in an overtime-eligible position in a participating bargaining unit.
