Coming Soon: UB's New Learning and Performance Management System

Published April 11, 2016

In May 2016, UB Human Resources will partner with Saba to roll out UB EDGE, a system that will provide a way to manage and track employee learning activities, performance plans, evaluations and the development of competencies.

What is UB EDGE?

UB EDGE (Employees Develop, Grow and Engage) is a central online solution to administer, document, track, report and deliver learning and performance activities. It will provide infrastructure that will:

  • assist in developing individual and organizational learning goals and track progress
  • collect training data in a centralized manner and provide reporting capabilities
  • manage training registration process
  • deliver and manage learning content and follow-up materials and job aids
  • allow HR to explore transitioning to online employee performance plans and evaluations
  • allow for a competency-based learning model and provide a competency library to assist with skills gap development

Who Can Use It?

UB faculty and staff members will be able to sign in to UB EDGE using their UBITName and password.

When Can I Log In?

UB EDGE will be available in May 2016.

What's In It For Me?

Login to UB EDGE to search and register for training, view the history of your learning activities at UB and create a personalized learning plan for the future. Supervisors can view their team's learning activities and recommend training and growth opportunities for their individual team members.

What's Next?

Later this year, Human Resources will roll out other functionality in UB EDGE, including Performance@Work which will allow employees and managers to easily incorporate learning activities into performance plans and complete plans and evaluations online using UB EDGE.
