As you may have heard, beginning Feb. 1, 2021, SUNY is expecting that all employees who come to campus on some regular basis will be tested for COVID-19 each week (http://www.buffalo.edu/news/releases/2021/01/019.html). UB will utilize the current surveillance testing process through SUNY Upstate Medical Center that we have been administering since the fall semester.  Invitations to register for the weekly testing will be generated by the Daily Health Check data submitted.  It is expected that all who come to campus complete a Daily Health Check when they come to campus.

Individuals attesting that they are symptom-free and have not been in close contact with someone who tested positive, AND have indicated that they come to campus on a regular basis, will receive an email invitation to register for testing each week.  Registration through an email invitation is required before going to a testing site. Those who have had a positive PCR test should not participate in surveillance testing for 90 days from the date of their positive test. Upon conclusion of the 90 days, they will be included in regular surveillance testing per the campus plan. Vaccine recipients shall also be included in surveillance testing.

Individuals who work remotely do not have to come in for surveillance testing.

Testing schedules and locations will be shared in the email invitations.  It is expected that all individuals who come to campus on a regular basis participate in the surveillance testing effort.  If you have any questions, please reach out to Mark Coldren in the Office of Human Resources at mcoldren@buffalo.edu or 645-8155. Continue to check UB’s COVID-19 website for updates.
