Free Winter Bicycle Storage Available

Bicycles left outside in winter.

Published November 1, 2017

Store your bicycle over the winter and keep it safe and road-ready for spring. This is a free service provided by Parking and Transportation Services.

Here are the steps to take:
  • Deposit: bring your bicycle to the Parking and Transportation Services office at 106 Spaulding during regular business hours beginning November 15. We’ll check it in and give your bike a unique tag that corresponds with your UB ID.
  • Pick-up: when you’re ready to ride, come back to 106 Spaulding and claim your bike. You can claim your bike with your UB ID and check in tag. It’s that easy.
  • Bike Health: Parking and Transportation Services will have some expert bicycle mechanics on location during the last pick-up days to oil chains, check brakes and perform routine maintenance on your bicycle — for free! If you retreive your bike before the last days of pick-up, bring it back to make sure it’s safe and road-ready.
  • Share: tell a student, friend or colleague about this FREE opportunity provided by UB Parking and Transportation Services!

If you have any questions about UB’s secure winter storage options for bicycles, or the bicycling culture at UB, contact Matthew Reitmeier at or (716) 645-3943.
