Classes and Activities to be Held on Labor Day 2020

Labor Day is Monday, September 7, 2020 and classes and activities will be held. 

State Employees

Labor Day will be treated as a regular compensatory holiday for those employees eligible for holiday time.

  • State professional employees that report to work will receive a compensatory holiday to be used at a later date
  • State professional employees that request off that day (subject to supervisor approval) will earn and use the Labor Day 2020 holiday
  • State classified employees that report to work will receive a compensatory holiday to be used at a later date or holiday pay (depending on election)
  • State classified employees that request off that day (subject to supervisor approval) will earn and use the Labor Day 2020 holiday

Research Foundation Employees

Labor Day will be treated as a regular compensatory holiday for those employees eligible for holiday time.

  • Research Foundation employees that report to work will receive a compensatory holiday to be used at a later date
  • Research Foundation employees that request off that day (subject to supervisor approval) will earn and use the Labor Day 2020 holiday

University at Buffalo Foundation Employees

Labor Day will be treated as a regular compensatory holiday for those employees eligible for holiday time.

  • University at Buffalo Foundation employees that report to work will receive a compensatory holiday to be used at a later date
  • University at Buffalo Foundation employees that request off that day (subject to supervisor approval) will earn and use the Labor Day 2020 holiday

Holiday time expires after one year
