Celebrating Our Cuisine

More than 60 local restaurants and wineries serve their fare at Taste of Buffalo, the largest two-day food festival in the United States. Over Labor Day Weekend, we pay tribute to our deep-fried claim to fame at the annual National Buffalo Wing Festival.

Locally Grown

From late spring through fall, farmers markets crop up throughout our eight-county region. You can buy everything local there, from fresh produce to maple syrup, free-range beef and chicken, baked goods, jams, herbs, yogurt and artisanal cheese.

UB hosts a popular farmers market on the South Campus. There also is a farmers market outside Capen Hall on the North Campus during warmer months and inside on the first floor of Capen when the weather turns cold.

Thanks to a profusion of local farms and orchards, you don’t have to travel far to pick your own produce either. Apples, cherries, blueberries, strawberries and raspberries represent just a portion of Western New York’s amazing agricultural bounty.
