Daniel J. “Danny” White, senior associate athletic director at the University of Mississippi, has been named the new director of UB’s Division of Athletics. 

On March 9, Interim Provost Bruce D. McCombe officially announced the search for the next dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. The search committee held its first organizational meeting, and is beginning to develop the recruitment strategy, position profile, and advertisements in support of the search.

Charles F. Zukoski, Elio Eliakim Tarika Chair of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, has been named provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at UB following an international search. His appointment is effective this summer. 

Nancy L. Wells has been named vice president for development and alumni relations at the University at Buffalo. She will lead the university’s fundraising efforts and its engagement with the more than 218,000 alumni worldwide. Her appointment is effective March 12, 2012.

Laura E. Hubbard, associate vice president for budget and finance at the University of Oregon, has been named vice president for finance and administration at UB. Her appointment takes effect Feb. 27, 2012.
