If there were a race for the shortest amount of time in which a UB athlete qualified for the NCAA Track and Field East Regionals, Vanessa Roelofsen would come in first, followed by Fatimah Hill in second place.
Roelofsen hit her qualifying mark in the first event of Buffalo’s outdoor track season when she recorded a distance of 153-3 (46.72m) in the javelin at the Seahawk Invitational, March 14–15 on the campus of North Carolina-Wilmington. Hill punched her ticket for regionals at the Bulls’ next meet two weeks later. The Raleigh Relays at North Carolina State University was the site of Hill’s qualifying long-jump distance with the junior jumping 19-8.25 (6.00m).
