UB head football coach Turner Gill met with a standing-room-only crowd of 70 alumni and gridiron fans at Metro 53 in Manhattan on June 15.
The San Diego chapter hosted a wine tasting in Temecula Valley on June 3; 19 enthusiasts were transported to the region from San Diego by limo bus. On July 21, 41 alumni and family members enjoyed the atmosphere of thoroughbred racing at the Del Mar Turf Club. A few individuals won some money, others lost a bit, but everyone had an enjoyable time in the infield, where a barbecue was served.
Three dozen UB alumni attended a reception and baseball game at Baltimore’s Camden Yards, as the Baltimore Orioles took on the New York Yankees June 28.
In Dallas, Robert Black, BS ’82, senior vice president and chief strategy officer at Kimberly-Clark, spoke about his career and UB’s influence on his life and career before an audience of 23 people at a networking reception.
Seventeen fellow Texans met before a Houston Astros game at the B.U.S. restaurant and then watched the Astros host the San Diego Padres in Minute Maid Park.
UB’s GOLD Group sponsored a community service opportunity for Habitat for Humanity on August 18. More than 30 alumni spent the entire day helping to rehab a home for a family in need on Buffalo’s east side.
In Philadelphia, 21 alumni gathered in McFadden’s Ballpark for a networking event before the UB Bulls met on the gridiron with the Temple Owls. The Bulls were victorious, 42-7.
Nearly 100 alumni and incoming UB students, friends and family enjoyed the final days of summer by attending a summer celebration picnic held in various New York State cities, including Rochester (August 4), Albany (August 11), Hempstead (August 12) and Manhattan (August 13).
