Fenglin Yang, PhD 2000, is the encapsulation lab manager and senior process development engineer at Harper International Corp., a company that develops and designs advanced thermal processing systems. Yang lives in Buffalo, NY.

Gwen Appelbaum, MBA 2001, has been promoted to manager of New York sales at National Fuel Resources. In this position, she will be responsible for the company's sales function, which provides energy management services to businesses, schools and municipalities throughout New York State. Appelbaum resides in Amherst, NY.

Jeremiah Murphy, BS 2001, has been named civil design project engineer at Concord Engineering and Surveying. Before joining the firm, he had five years working with private clients and municipalities throughout North Carolina, Vermont and New York. Murphy lives in Indian Trail, NC.

Jeanine Zimmer, BA 2001, has had her monthly arts magazine Artefakt featured in a recent issue of the Cleveland Plain Dealer and Inside Business, a Cleveland, OH, magazine. She founded the magazine more than four years ago and has facilitated its growth, which now extends far into various arts communities. Zimmer resides in Cleveland.

Tami Lee Demler, PharmD 2002 & BS 1992, has been elected president of the Pharmacists Society of New York State. Under her direction, the association will continue to look out for quality care and legislative rights of the public. She will be the association's 117th president and the first woman from the Buffalo area to hold the state office. Demler lives in North Tonawanda, NY.

Susan Smolen, MBA 2002 & BS 1994, has been promoted to assistant vice president of Greater Buffalo Savings Bank. Previously, she was the bank's central operations manager. Smolen lives in Buffalo, NY.

Meredith D. Christman, MBA 2003, has been appointed product manager of Roberts–Gordon, a Buffalo, NY–headquartered infrared and warm–air heating equipment manufacturer. Previously, she was manager of research and analysis/project manager for trade services at the World Trade Center Buffalo Niagara. Christman resides in North Tonawanda, NY.

Frank M. Eassa, MBA 2003, has been named senior accountant at the certified public accounting and consultants firm of Dopkins & Company. He lives in Amherst, NY.

Adiel Gavish, BS 2003, was promoted to program director at Federated Conservationists of Westchester County in White Plains, NY, a not–for–profit organization dedicated to environmental education and advocacy. Formerly a program manager, she resides in Mount Kisco, NY.
