Robert Irwin, B.S. 1965, has been elected chair of the board of directors of Cattaraugus County Bank. He has been a director at the bank since 1993 and now serves as chair of its audit committee. Irwin is also a managing shareholder of the accounting firm R.A. Mercer and Company and a member of the New York State Society of CPAs. He lives in Salamanca, NY.
Carl W. Ehmann, M.D. 1967 & B.A. 1963, has been named to Barrier Therapeutics’ board of directors. He serves as chair of the board for the Medical University of South Carolina Foundation for Research Development, and is also a private pharmaceutical industrial consultant, having worked with such pharmaceutical companies as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Hoffman-LaRoche and Johnson & Johnson. Ehmann is a member of the Barrier Scientific Advisory Board and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He resides in Charleston, SC.
*Albert I. Wertheimer, M.B.A. 1967 & B.S. 1965, has joined the board of directors of Lannett Company. He is a professor in the School of Pharmacy at Temple University and director of the school’s Center for Pharmaceutical Health Services Research. Wertheimer has authored 20 books and more than 350 journal articles and provides consulting services to institutions in the pharmaceutical industry. He lives in Blue Bell, PA.
Frederick Foster, Ed.M. 1968 & Ed.B. 1965, was one of 25 Western New Yorkers to be honored at the 32nd Annual Black Achievers in Industry Awards held in October 2004. He has 30 years’ experience in health and physical education, including work at the Masten Boys Club, Neighborhood House, Depew High School, Howard University and UB. Foster retired in 1996 and has since helped to start the Juneteenth Track and Field Classic for children ages five to 18. He lives in Buffalo, NY.
Raymond LeChase, J.D. 1968, is the president and CEO of LeChase Construction Services. He was listed as one of Rochester, NY’s Top 50 CEOs in the July 2004 edition of the Rochester Business Journal. He serves on the executive committees of the Rochester Business Alliance and the Otetiana Council. LeChase is also director and finance committee chair of the Rochester/Monroe County Workforce Development System’s investment board. He lives in Webster, NY.
*David Pfalzgraf, J.D. 1968, has joined UB graduate Laurie Menzies (J.D. 1996) and Charles Beinhauer in opening the law firm of Pfalzgraf, Beinhauer & Menzies in Cheektowaga, NY. The partnership has 60 years’ combined experience in elder law and estate planning and administration. He is a past president of the Erie County Bar Association and in 2002 received the association’s Lawyer of the Year Award. Pfalzgraf is a founding member and financial officer of the executive committee of the New York State Bar Association’s elder law sections. He resides in Buffalo, NY.

Richard Harrison, M.B.A. 1969, has been named to the board of directors of Transcat Inc., a leading global distributor of professional-grade test, measurement and calibration instruments and a provider of calibration and repair services. He is a senior retail banking and lending officer at the National Bank of Geneva and senior retail risk manager at the bank’s holding company, Financial Institutions Inc. Harrison resides in Rochester, NY.
