1960s Classnotes

James P. Toscano, B.A. 1966, has been appointed assistant adjutant general for air for the New York Air National Guard and has been promoted to brigadier general. He is retired from his position as executive support staff officer and is continuing his present position as a traditional guardsman. He lives in Tucson, AZ.

Brian Rhatigan, J.D. 1967, has joined Greenberg Traurig’s medical malpractice defense group as a partner. He comes to the firm from the St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company, where he was regional medical coordinator, senior trial counsel and manager of the Fairfax, VA, staff attorney’s office. Rhatigan resides in Ashburn, VA.

Jack Doyle, J.D. 1968, has joined Gallo & Iacovangelo as of counsel. He is a member of the insurance and municipal law division of the firm’s litigation department and focuses his practice on various municipal and corporate matters. Doyle has also been elected to serve in the House of Delegates for the Municipal Law Section for 2004-2006. He resides in Rochester, NY.

Norman McCombs, B.S. 1968, senior vice president of Air Sep Corporation, has been named a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). This distinction is given to an ASME member with at least 10 years of active engineering practice who has made significant contributions to the profession. McCombs lives in Tonawanda, NY.

Gerard T. Mazurkiewicz, B.S. 1969, has received the 2004 Service to Mankind Award from the Western New York and Finger Lakes chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. He is being honored for his active service with clients and community organizations as a certified public accountant. Mazurkiewicz is tax director for Dopkins & Company and is chair of the board of the Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo Foundation. He resides in West Seneca, NY.
