Jonathan Solomon, J.D. '83 & B.A. '80, has been named special assistant to FBI director Robert S. Mueller III. In this position, Solomon provides counsel to the director on policy issues and closely supports the director's day-to-day briefings and meetings throughout the United States and abroad.

Since joining the FBI in September 1983, Solomon has served in FBI field divisions across the country, including those in Kansas City, Philadelphia and Buffalo, and as the number two agent in charge of the FBI's Central Florida region. He has also served in the Office of Professional Responsibility, headed up the FBI's Transfer Unit and served as chief of the FBI's Background Investigation Contract Service. Most recently, Solomon served as special assistant to the FBI's executive assistant director of administration, who is responsible for the FBI's reengineering efforts, as well as its technology, budget and security. Solomon lives in Alexandria, VA.
