"Art on Wheels" is a major public art exhibit that brings artistically transformed automobiles and other works of art to dozens of cultural, heritage and historical sites throughout the Buffalo-Niagara region. Hosting sites at the University at Buffalo include the Center for the Arts on the North Campus, the School of Architecture on the South Campus and the Anderson Gallery on Martha Jackson Place in Buffalo. The exhibit runs from May through October 2003. For more information, visit www.arton wheels.org.

"Celebrate the past, reconnect for the future," as you reunite with your old friends from the Law School. The following classes will be celebrating class reunions in 2003: 1968, 1973, 1978, 1983, 1993 and 1998. For more information, contact Amy Hayes Atkinson, reunion coordinator, at (716) 645-6224 or e-mail aatkins@buffalo.edu.

The Class of 1968 will celebrate its 35th reunion June 6–7 starting with a Friday night cocktail party at a classmate’s home. On Saturday a brunch will be held at the Law School and an elegant dinner will take place at the Jacobs Executive Development Center (the former Butler Mansion) featuring live music by Mark Mazur and the Little Big Band.

The Class of 1973 will celebrate its 30th reunion June 6–7. On Friday night, a casual cocktail party will be held at DuBois, a favorite hangout during law school days. Following a Saturday brunch at the Law School, classmates will cheer on the Buffalo Bisons baseball team. After the game, everyone will convene for a fun buffet dinner in Pettibone’s Restaurant.

The Class of 1978 will hold its 25th reunion the weekend of June 6–7. On Friday night there will be a casual cocktail party with light fare and a cash bar at the Bijou Grille. Saturday will include brunch at the Law School and an elegant dinner at the recently restored Mansion on Delaware, featured recently in Architectural Digest.

The Class of 1983 will celebrate its 20th reunion June 6–7. A Friday night cocktail party will take place at Brinks on Chippewa. Plans include Saturday brunch at the Law School and a "stations" dinner at the Park Lane, with live music by the Thom Diina Band.

The Class of 1993 will celebrate its 10th reunion June 6–7. Friday night casual cocktails will be served at the City Grill on Main Street. On Saturday, a brunch will be held at the Law School and dinner will be at the Buffalo Club.

The Class of 1998 will celebrate its fifth reunion June 6–7. On Friday night, classmates will gather at the Pearl Street Grill. On Saturday, brunch will be hosted at the Law School; classmates will also enjoy dinner at the Bijou Grille in a private upstairs dining area.

School of Social Work

"An Evening to Remember" aptly describes the 37th Annual Social Work Awards Dinner held October 15, 2002, at the Jacobs Executive Development Center (the former Butler Mansion) in Buffalo. The evening included a guided tour of the mansion, the annual "state of the school" address by Dean Lawrence Shulman and a delicious meal enjoyed by nearly 50 alumni.

Recipients of the 2002 School of Social Work Scholarship Award were Karen De Sisti, M.S.W. ’02 and Lisa Markovitz Harnden, M.S.W. ’03. The 2002 Alumni Award was presented to Sandra Bunkley, who was cited for outstanding commitment to the social work profession in her career with the Erie County Department of Social Services and for her continuing support in promoting the school. The Community Service Award was presented to Jon Krull, coordinator of the Common Sense Parenting Group Program through the Western New York Children’s Psychiatric Center.
