Shaheer H. Khan, Ph.D. 1990
A scientist at Applera, previously known as PerkinElmer, for the past eight years, Khan focuses his studies on chemistry, biochemistry and instrumental development. He was an Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research postdoctoral fellow at the University of Alberta in Alberta, Canada, and has authored or coauthored more than 25 journal articles and book chapters. In a March 2001 article for Chemical and Engineering News' "New Voices in Chemistry" series, Khan describes the ecstatic feelings at Applied Biosystems when the human genome was sequenced using automated DNA sequencing technology from his company. A member of the Society for Glycobiology, the American Chemical Society (ACS) and the Carbohydrate Division of the ACS, Khan lives in Foster City, CA. |
