1950s Classnotes

Atanas T. Kobryn, B.S. 1959, an honored sergeant in the Korean War, was named Citizen of the Year for 2001 in North Port, FL. Each year citizens of the community vote for an individual who has served on a local, county or state board, or inspired fellow citizens. Kobryn is president of Kiwanis Club of North Port, as well as president of the Friends of the Library. Formerly, he was a commander of Post #40 of the Ukrainian American Veterans and national commander of that organization. He is also a member of the local Republican Club and AmVets Post 2000. In addition, he is a member of the tax oversight committee and serves on the Glenallen School Advisory Council and North Port High School’s advisory council/shared decision making team.
