2000s Classnotes

Edward J. Cosgrove, J.D. 2000 & M.D. 1994, of the staff of Sisters Hospital in Buffalo, NY, was sworn in as a lawyer during ceremonies before the Appellate Division of State Supreme Court in Rochester, NY. He is currently a diplomate in internal medicine and working as a medical consultant and emergency room physician at Sisters Hospital. He resides in Orchard Park, NY.

Karen S. Danahy, J.D. 2000, has been named an associate in the Buffalo, NY, law office of Phillips, Lytle, Hitchcock, Blaine & Huber LLP. She lives in Amherst, NY.

Dan De Federicis, J.D. 2000 & B.A. 1997, is the first Western New Yorker to be elected in recent years to represent the 3,000-member Police Benevolent Association (PBA) of the New York State Troopers. He plans to pattern the union after the Buffalo PBA, which has repeatedly won pay raises and other job benefits for its 950 members through binding arbitration and grievances. He has previously traveled the state campaigning on several issues, including improved radio communication equipment and transmission towers and the institution of permanent work shifts. He has moved to Albany, NY, to servehis term.

Rafael Gomez, J.D. 2000, has joined the Buffalo, NY, law firm Bouvier O'Connor LLP, as an associate, where he will work in the litigation department. He resides in Buffalo.

Scott Halliday, B.S. 2000, of Clarence Center, NY, was named system administrator of Dopkins System Consultants, a division of the CPA firm Dopkins & Company LLP.

Tara N. Kamble, J.D. 2000, has joined the staff of Hiscock & Barclay's Buffalo office in the trusts and estates department. She lives in Amherst, NY.

Robert Murray, J.D. 2000, has joined the Buffalo, NY, law firm Jaeckle, Fleischmann & Mugel LLP and will concentrate his practice in tax law and employee benefits. He resides in Buffalo.

Rolando Velasquez, EMBA 2000 & J.D. 1994, has been appointed as an associate attorney at the Buffalo, NY, law firm Serotte Reich & Seipp LLP.

Kathleen Chmaj, M.A. 2001, was hired as a geographic information systems specialist at Stearns & Wheler's Amherst, NY, office.

Jessie Kaye, M.B.A. 2001, is the chief operating officer and executive director of Gateway­Longview Inc. She completed the executive M.B.A. program at UB's School of Management.
