Parry Shen, B.S. 1995
, snagged his first lead role in a major motion picture-that of Glen in the Columbia Pictures teen comedy, The New Guy, directed by Ed Decter and scheduled for release in August. Shen plays the friend and bandmate of the central character (played by D. J. Qualls), an unpopular teen who gets expelled from high school only to assume a "cooler" identity at his new school. Other cast members include Zooey Deschanel, Eliza Dushku, Eddie Griffin and Lyle Lovett.

Shen, who has appeared on the television shows Caroline in the City, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Suddenly Susan, earned his UB degree in marketing, with minors in media studies, public relations/advertising and theater. He recently finished filming Better Luck Tomorrow, directed by Toronto Film Festival award winner Justin Lin, in which he plays the lead role of Ben.
