1960s Classnotes

Robert Genco, D.D.S. 1963, is a distinguished professor and chair of the oral biology department at UB. A renowned dental researcher, he is broadening his reach to educate consumers about the benefits of healthy teeth and gums. He appeared in The Cutting Edge Medical Report on Gum Disease, a medical documentary that premiered during prime time on the Fox Health Network. Genco has worked for more than 20 years on laboratory and clinical studies, which have led to a greater understanding of the causes, prevention and treatment of oral diseases. He is also the founder of SUNY's Periodontal Graduate Program.

Mark Edelstein, B.S. 1966, a workers' compensation specialist, was honored at the California Applicants' Attorneys Association's (CAAA) Annual Convention in Rancho Mirage, CA, as the first recipient in four years of the Eugene Marias Lifetime Achievement Award. The award recognizes "lifetime dedication to the cause of protecting the interests of California's injured workers"- he is only the 12th honoree since the CAAA established the award in 1984. Edelstein is managing partner of Gordon, Edelstein, Krepack, Grant, Felton & Goldstein, a Los Angeles-based firm that works with labor unions focusing on workers' compensation and personal injury representation.

Patricia Krzesinski, B.A. 1967, has been elected chair of the Erie Community College Board of Trustees. She lives in Amherst, NY.
