Catherine Collins, Ed.D. 1990 & Ed.M. 1979, was elected national vice president of Jack & Jill of America Inc. during the organization's national convention held recently in Charlotte, NC. In her new role, she will travel to Nigeria to participate in the installation of two new chapters; she will also work with groups in Germany and Alaska that are interested in establishing new chapters. In addition, she will represent the president in her absence, serve on the Jack & Jill Foundation Board, work with regional directors and chair the advisory council. She resides in Buffalo, NY.

Robert DeFelice, Ph.D. 1990, has been promoted to associate professor of English at Monroe Community College by the college's board of trustees. He lives in Rochester, NY.

Marianne Hubert, Ed.M. 1990, was awarded a master of arts degree in pastoral ministry by Christ the King Seminary, an interdiocesan graduate school of divinity, theology and pastoral ministry in East Aurora, NY. Currently, she teaches sophomore religion at the Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart in Amherst, NY, and resides in Williamsville, NY.

Philip J. Palmieri, M.D. 1990, is an infectious diseases physician in Albany, NY, and CEO of Ruggiero Palmieri LLC and Beltesoro. com. He lives in Albany.

Mark Crawford, Ed.D. 1991, has been named principal of Casey Middle School in Williamsville, NY. He resides in Derby, NY.

Helen C. Kregg, B.A. 1991, is secretary and cofounder of the Minority Health Coalition, a coalition of concerned providers working collaboratively to create a culturally sensitive approach to the delivery of wellness services.

Beverly Lucas, Ed.M. 1991 & B.A. 1987, has been named coordinator of special programs at the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) in College Park, MD, where she will be responsible for the administration of 40 newly accredited, undergraduate certificate programs. She will also serve as an associate professor teaching courses in UMUC's English department. In addition, she will begin her doctoral coursework, pursuing a Ph.D. in educational psychology. As an educator and community advocate in Buffalo, she developed and implemented programs and services that focused on youth and women's issues. She lives in Marlboro, MD.

Nancy Woodworth-Hill, Ph.D. 1991, M.A. 1986 & B.A. 1984, was awarded a master of arts degree in theology by Christ the King Seminary, an interdiocesan graduate school of divinity, theology and pastoral ministry in East Aurora, NY. She is coordinator of auxiliary personnel at the Buffalo Museum of Science, handling the administration of its volunteers and interns. A resident of Buffalo, NY, she is also interim organist/choir director at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Buffalo, and a member of the music commission of the Episcopal Diocese of Buffalo.

Kimberley Martello, Ed.M. 1992, has been promoted to assistant professor of mathematics at Monroe Community College by the college's board of trustees. She resides in Linwood, NY.

David P. Nalbone, B.A. 1992, received his Ph.D. in social psychology from Claremont Graduate University in August 2000, made five conference presentations in 2000 on various research projects and has accepted a position as visiting assistant professor of psychology at Hamilton College.

Laura S. Dudley, J.D. 1993, has joined the Buffalo, NY, law firm of Damon & Morey LLP as an associate, practicing in the firm's labor and employment law practice group. She represents employers in labor relations, contract negotiations, arbitration proceedings, employment discrimination litigation, wrongful termination actions and safety and health matters, including related trial and appellate practice in federal and state courts. Before joining Damon & Morey, she was director of human resources and deputy counsel for the Buffalo News. A resident of East Aurora, NY, she is a member of the Erie County Bar Association's labor law committee, the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Industrial Relations Research Association.

Teresa Nigro-Lawrence, Ed.M. 1993 & B.A. 1991, has been appointed instructional specialist for research and evaluation with the Williamsville, NY, School District. She will oversee curriculum and instruction and assessment for the district. She will also design computer systems for tracking student progress toward meeting New York State graduation requirements. She lives in Clarence, NY.

Aaron A. Zynczak, B.A. 1993, has joined Commerce Bank N.A., an affiliate of Commerce Bancshares Inc. in Kansas City, MO, as assistant vice president in the international division, where he will be responsible for marketing international products and services to customers and prospects. He resides in Kansas City.

Guy C. Giancarlo, J.D. 1994, M.B.A. 1993 & B.S. 1989, has joined Hiscock and Barclay LLP as a senior associate. He concentrates his practice in the areas of general business and corporate law, commercial litigation and public finance. Hiscock and Barclay is a full-service law firm providing a wide range of legal services with offices in Syracuse, Buffalo and Albany, NY. The firm's main areas of practice include business services, litigation, real estate, financial services, and trusts and estates.

David E. Gutowski, J.D. 1994, has joined the Buffalo, NY, law firm of Damon & Morey LLP as an associate, practicing both in the firm's business litigation and intellectual property law practice groups. He works primarily with corporate and business clients in matters involving general contract litigation, U.C.C. litigation, intellectual property, noncompetition violations, construction litigation and debtor and creditor matters. He is involved in handling commercial and complex litigation in state and federal courts. A resident of Buffalo, he is a member of the Erie County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

Irene C. Lau, Ed.M. 1994, was married to Joseph Linehan on February 20, 2000, at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, FL, where she currently works as a guest relations hostess at the Magic Kingdom. She resides in Kissimmee, FL.

David R. Rice, D.D.S. 1994, clinical instructor in restorative dentistry for the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, is president-elect of the University at Buffalo Dental Alumni Association. He practices in East Amherst and lives in Amherst, NY.

Ellen M. Rugg, M.A. 1994 & M.S.W. 1987, is a psychotherapist in Psychotherapy & Consultation at Roosevelt Associates in Seattle, WA, where she resides.

Thaddeus Woronowicz, B.S. 1994, has been promoted to the tax compliance staff at Ernst & Young's upstate New York practice, where he will be responsible for tax return preparation and analysis, serving various clients. Ernst & Young offers traditional audit and tax services, as well as customized services in corporate finance, online security, risk management, the valuation of intangibles and e-business acceleration. He lives in Tonawanda, NY.

Richard J. Thomann, M.B.A. 1995, has accepted a position as solution manager for pervasive computing technologies within IBM Global Services. He will be responsible for defining and executing a wireless strategy for the company's delivery organization. The focus will be on mobile technology and extending it to imbedded wireless services. He resides in Webster, NY.

Deborah K. Tyler, B.A. 1995, was awarded a master of arts degree in pastoral ministry by Christ the King Seminary, an interdiocesan graduate school of divinity, theology and pastoral ministry in East Aurora, NY. She is a parish worker in the music and mission ministries at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tonawanda, NY. She is also a founder and director of the Shepherd's Staff Christian Community Choir, which offers choral presentations in local churches, at community events and at Kenmore Mercy Hospital.

Joseph M. Holody, B.S. 1996, is vice president of convention sales in sales and marketing for the Niagara Falls, NY, Convention and Visitors Bureau. He is a resident of Niagara Falls, NY.

Sylvia Kwong, B.A. 1996, is a defined contribution specialist doing benefits consulting at the Ross Companies in New York, NY, where she resides.

Michael J. Schmidt, B.S. 1997, has completed his M.B.A. at St. Bonaventure University in Olean, NY, and has accepted a position with Citigroup Inc., the parent company of Citibank, Travellers Insurance and Solomon Smith Barney. He will be the operations supervisor, helping to oversee the company's funds transfer department, which is responsible for transferring the flow of one trillion dollars a day through the Federal Reserve and CHIPS clearinghouse. He is engaged to marry Rebecca Hayes; they are planning a May 2001 wedding.

Joel A. Segal, B.A. 1997, has joined the law firm of Piper, Marbury, Rudnick & Wolfe LLP in New York, NY, as network operations manager, where he will be responsible for managing the New York office's entire technology department. He lives in Flushing, NY, with his wife, Rachel Sue Segal, B.A. 1998, who works as a financial analyst for Colson Services.

Richard M. Brennan, B.S. 1998, has joined Lumsden & McCormick LLP, certified public accountants and advisors, as a senior accountant. In this position, he will be responsible for auditing, accounting and tax services to commercial businesses, not-for-profit organizations and individuals. He resides in Akron, NY.

Robert Godwin Jr., J.D. 1998, was named litigation associate at the law office of Steven Kantor in Williamsville, NY. The firm's practice will focus on railroad, construction and automobile accidents and personal injury litigation.

Kimberly W. Sayoc, J.D. 1998 & B.A. 1995, has been named associate at the Buffalo, NY, law firm of Cohen, Swados, Wright, Hanifin, Bradford & Brett LLP, where she will practice in the commercial law department. She lives in Orchard Park, NY.

Amy Beeman, M.S.W. 1999, has received the Gwen Goldberg Memorial Award for demonstrating excellence in fieldwork at Child and Family Services. She resides in Williamsville, NY.

Mary Frances Cipolla, M.S.W. 1999, has received the National Association of Social Workers' Western New York Division Award. The award honors a student who has demonstrated academic excellence and personified the values espoused by the association.

John P. McGrath, M.B.A. 1999, is now vice president/capital analyst of First Niagara Bank in Lockport, NY. He lives in Orchard Park, NY, with his wife, Patricia and their three children.
