Kay
E. Fiegl-Bock, B.A. 1979, recently graduated from the Seton
Hall Law School in Newark, NJ, with a juris doctor degree.
Mary Sue French, B.S. 1980, has been promoted to the position
of plant controller at B.F. Goodrich in Cincinnati, OH.
Kirk A. Burzynski, M.B.A. 1983 & B.P.S. 1980, was
promoted by Ciminelli Development to director of development in
the firm’s Buffalo, NY, location. Previously a project manager
for Ciminelli, he will oversee all aspects of new development
within the firm.
Albert A. Foster, J.D. 1983, has been named partner at
the San Francisco-based law firm of Dillingham & Murphy LLP, where
he will be the managing partner in the firm’s new Washington,
DC, office.
E. Jeannette Ogden, J.D. 1983, was nominated this past
September by the Erie County Democratic Committee and the Erie
County Liberal Party to be an endorsed candidate for New York
State Supreme Court Justice.
David C. Spiro, B.A. 1985, recently relocated to Rochester,
NY, seeking a quieter life following an eventful past few years.
Living life to the fullest after receiving a lifesaving liver
transplant (see the profile of David that appeared in the Winter
1998 issue of UB Today), he is currently an organ recovery/placement
specialist with the Finger Lakes Donor Recovery Network. This
is the federally designated organ procurement organization that
serves Rochester and Syracuse, NY.
Michael J. Tremiti, B.A. 1985, has been appointed to the
position of vice president of commercial lending for First Niagara
Bank, formerly Lockport Savings Bank. In his new position, he
will lead the commercial real estate and small business lending
side of the bank’s Rochester, NY, loan production office. He brings
more than thirteen years of banking experience to First Niagara.
Neil D. Honschke, B.A. 1986, is currently a trial attorney
for Brotman, Graziano & Hubert in Trenton, NJ.
Karen D. Lalli, B.P.S. 1986, a strategic facilities planner
with 12 years’ experience, is a six-year member of the Hillier
Group’s Corporate Studio, where her most recent projects include
a strategic facilities plan for Warner Lambert in Morris Plains,
NJ; national program guidelines for Sprint in Overland Park, KS;
and a space program for Arthur Anderson in Philadelphia, PA.
Douglas C. Bean, M.B.A. 1987, has been appointed to the
board of directors of Eric Mower and Associates in Buffalo, NY,
where he will be responsible for setting the direction and standards
that define the ad agency’s practice. Before joining the agency
in 1988 as an account supervisor, he served as director of marketing
communications for M&T Bank and was also manager of marketing
and communications for the Cannon Corporation.
Terry M. Collins, B.S. 1988, has been promoted to director
of nursing at Seneca Health Care Center in West Seneca, NY. She
is a member of the New York State Nurses Association and the Directors
of Nursing for Long-Term Care Facilities of Western New York.
James P. Kennedy, J.D. 1988, has joined the Buffalo, NY,
law firm of Bouvier, O’Connor as an associate in the litigation
department. He previously served in the New York State Attorney
General’s Office as a trial attorney, earlier serving in the same
capacity for the Erie County Attorney’s Office.
Michael J. Perry, B.S. 1988, recently reported to the Uniformed
Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. The
university prepares students for worldwide duty as career physicians
in the Army, Navy, Air Force and the U.S. Public Health Service.
In exchange for tuition-free education, graduates agree to serve
a minimum of seven years’ active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces.
Wayne P. Wawrzyniec, B.S. 1988, has been promoted to chief
financial officer, full service fabrication, machining and special
products divisions, at Ascension Industries of North Tonawanda,
NY, a full-service metalworking contract manufacturer of parts,
subassemblies and complete products for domestic and international
customers.
Daniel J. Clark, M.B.A. 1989, has been promoted to vice
president of operations for Kemin Industries in Des Moines, IA.
He will be responsible for manufacturing, purchasing and distribution
at Kemin’s feed and food in gredient company located in Des Moines,
and in Hitchcock, TX.
Ann E. Markle, M.S.W. 1989, has been named assistant rector
of Calvary Episcopal Church in Williamsville, NY. She is a recent
graduate of Yale University’s Berkeley Divinity School.
Penelope D. Ploughman, J.D. 1989, Ph.D. 1984, M.A. 1978 &
B.A. 1976, is currently an associate counsel for the State
University of New York’s Office of the University Counsel and
Vice Chancellor for Legal Affairs in Albany, NY.
Terry W. Young, B.S. 1989, has been promoted to manager
of Blasland, Bouck & Lee, a multidisciplinary firm of consulting
engineers and scientists in Syracuse, NY. He is a licensed professional
engineer in New York State.
