Robert E. Reisman, M.D. 1956, clinical professor of medicine and pediatrics at the University at Buffalo, has been named 1999 Distinguished Medical Alumnus by the UB School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He has authored more than 200 articles, papers and book chapters, and served as coeditor of an allergy-immunology text published by the American College of Physicians.

Ruth L. MacDonald, Ed.M. 1957, Ed.M. 1956, B.S. 1939, M.L.S. 1935 & B.A. 1934, worked at Broward Community College in Florida for ten years after retiring as professor emeritus and director of libraries at Erie Community College. The Fort Lauderdale Panhellenic Association named her 1999 Woman of the Year for her many years of work in community projects and association activities.
