Howard C. MacMillan, B.S. 1980, has been promoted to vice president of special assets for Citizens Bank in Providence, RI.

Laura Gray Malloy, M.A. 1980, has joined Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY, as dean of academic affairs.

Christopher D. Whelan, Ed.D. 1980 & Ed.B. 1972, received a juris doctor degree from Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI.

Adam Wishkovsky, M.B.A. 1980 & B.S. 1979, has been appointed marketing manager of the Consumer Products Group of Columbus McKinnon in Amherst, NY.

Carole B. Cobb, B.S. 1981, has been named senior vice president of manufacturing and supply at Genencor International in Rochester, NY.

Bonnie B. Lachtrupp, B.S. 1981, received the Friends Award from the Vermont Parent Information Center for her outstanding contributions to children with special needs and their families.

J. Kevin Powers, B.A. 1981, is living in Shoreview, MN, where he is a principal of Leggette, Brashears & Graham Inc., a ground water and environmental engineering company. One of his projects recently won the American Academy of Environmental Engineersı grand award for projects under five million dollars, as well as the American Consulting Engineers Councilıs grand award for research projects.

Steven Lipiner, B.A. 1982, was recently appointed chief operating officer and financial officer for the London office of BankBoston. He and his wife, Donna, have three children and are expecting a fourth child at this writing.

John P. McNamara, B.A. 1982, is currently serving in the United States Air Force, stationed in Massachusetts. Since completing his bachelorıs degree, he has received a masterıs degree in political science, and is working on a master of divinity degree. He is married and has one child.

Ravi Prasad, Ph.D. 1982 & M.S. 1979, has been named a Praxair Corporate Fellow by Praxair Inc., in recognition of his high level of scientific achievement.

Edward P. Yankelunas, J.D. 1982, has been named a partner of Damon & Morey LLP in Buffalo, NY, where he will practice in the firmıs business litigation department, working primarily with corporate and business clients on commercial litigation involving a variety of business disputes. He has extensive litigation experience and is admitted to practice in all New York State Courts, U.S. District Court and U.S. Bankruptcy Court. At UB, he was senior editor of the Buffalo Law Review.

Paul P. Coolican, M.S.W. 1983, has been promoted to chief operating officer of the Episcopal Church Home and Affiliates in Buffalo, NY.

David J. Nasca, M.B.A. 1983, has been promoted to senior vice president and treasurer of Lockport Savings Bank in Lockport, NY.

Cordell Schachter, B.A. 1983, is a WAN and Internet hosting project manager with IBM Global Services. He is a certified project management professional and senior project manager.

David Wachtel, Ph.D. 1983, is an associate professor of sociology at Lexington Community College in Lexington, KY. He recently spent three months teaching at the Changsha College of Education in Changsha, Hunan Province, China.

June W. Hoeflich, B.S. 1984, has been promoted to senior vice president and commercial executive of HSBC Business Loans Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of HSBC Bank USA. In this position, she is responsible for managing the divisionıs asset-based lending portfolio for upstate New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Frank J. Evangelisti, B.A. 1985, is currently the assistant director for economic development for the city of Binghamton, NY.

Robert M. Florian, B.S. 1985, was awarded the Vincent C. Bowhers Field Quality Award for dedication to professionalism and for his commitment to clients in financial services.

Kim D. Frink, B.A. 1985, has been promoted to vice president/trust for Citizens Bank in Providence, RI.

Steven Laut, B.A. 1985, passed the California State Bar exam in February 1999. He is currently employed at Northrop-Grumman Corporation as a software engineer specialist, practicing law concurrently.

Virginia C. McEldowney, J.D. 1985, has been named special counsel of the Buffalo, NY, law firm of Damon & Morey LLP. She practices in the health-care law, insurance law and ERISA/employee benefits areas, with a focus on corporate, regulatory and managed care issues, as well as issues relating to self-funded group health plans. An instructor at Canisius College in Buffalo, she is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the New York State Bar Association and the Health Law Committee of the Erie County Bar Association.

Kevin J. McGoldrick, B.S. 1985, is manager of comprehensive controls development for the Raymond Corporation based in Greene, NY.

Christine A. Trojan, B.S. 1985, has been employed as a legal nurse consultant for the Erie County Department of Law in Buffalo, NY, since 1988. She recently passed the board certification examination in her field of expertise. As a result, the Erie County Department of Law became the first law office in Western New York to employ a board-certified legal nurse consultant on its full-time staff.

Timothy J. Barry, B.S. 1986, has been appointed to a four-year term on the Syracuse Board of Electrical Examiners by Syracuse Mayor Roy A. Bernardi. He has also been appointed vice president of OıBrien and Gere Technical Services Inc.

Rafaella M. Borasi, Ph.D. 1986 & Ed.M. 1982, a mathematics educator who has pioneered new methods of math instruction, has been named to the Frederica Warner Chair in Education at the University of Rochesterıs Margaret Warner Graduate School of Education and Human Development.

John C. Askey, B.A. 1987, has been promoted to the rank of captain in the Amherst, NY, Police Department.

Debra A. Colley, Ph.D. 1987 & Ed.M. 1983, has been named dean of the College of Education at Niagara University in Niagara University, NY.

Dennis C. Hollins, M.D. 1987, has been selected for inclusion in the annual ³Best Doctors in Greenville² article of the Greenville Magazine, a Greenville, SC, publication. He currently serves as medical director/administrator of the Roger C. Peace Rehabilitation Hospital in Greenville, where he lives with his wife, Suzette, and three daughters.

Elizabeth J. Fitzsimmons, Ed.M. 1988 & B.A. 1986, has been elected banking officer/retail manager of Lockport Savings Bank. In this position, she will be in charge of managing deposit product portfolios and developing new products and enhancements, along with positioning and promoting products in the marketplace.

Adrian L. Garcia, M.A. 1988, received a Ph.D. in physics from Ohio University. He currently holds a research position at the Center for Applied Research and Advanced Technology of the Instituto Politecnico Nacional in Mexico.

Donald K. Kitner Jr., B.A. 1988, was recently promoted to internal communications manager for Ingersoll-Rand. He has relocated from Buffalo, NY, to Charlotte, NC.

Eugenia I. Proulx, Ph.D. 1988, is the new president of the Dundalk Campus of the Community College of Baltimore County, MD.

John M. Sember, B.A. 1988, is the development manager for the city of Altamonte Springs, FL. He received a masterıs degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Florida and resides in Orlando, FL.

E. Bryan Bielecki, B.A. 1989, has joined the CPA firm of Lumsden & McCormick LLP in Buffalo, NY.
