James William Everett Sr., B.S. 1950, has retired as the administrator of Amherst Town Court, the second busiest municipal court in New York State. He and his wife of 43 years, Esther, have three sons, Jim, Bob and Emil.
Joseph S. Mattina, J.D. 1956, Surrogate Judge of Erie County, NY, received the 1998 Edwin F. Jaeckle Award from the University at Buffalo Law School and its Law Alumni Association. The award recognizes an individual who has distinguished himself or herself and has made significant contributions to the law school and the legal profession.
Joseph A. La Nasa, D.D.S. 1957, received the Frank J. Stone Award from the Erie County Dental Society for outstanding service to his profession and community at the society’s annual installation dinner January 9. A life member of the American Dental Association, the Eighth District Dental Society and the Erie County Dental Society, he has lived and maintained a dental practice in Williamsville, NY, since 1959. He is a past president of the Fonzi Dental Study Club and former chair of the Erie County Dental Society’s ethics committee. In 1993, he received the Edward J. Doran Award for service to Catholic Charities of Buffalo, NY.
Michael P. DeMarco, B.A. 1958, has just finished his first year as a Justice of the New York State Supreme Court after serving 27 years as a member of the New York City Council.
