Erin M. Peradotto, J.D. '84 & B.A. '81, assistant attorney general in charge of New York State Attorney General Dennis Vacco's Buffalo regional office, has assumed the presidency of the 3,500-member Bar Association of Erie County.
Only the second female president in the county bar association's history, Peradotto manages 20 lawyers and oversees thousands of cases annually in her position with the state attorney general's office. She was formerly a partner with the Buffalo law firm O'Shea, Reynolds & Cummings, concentrating in insurance and personal injury litigation.
Past president of the Defense Trial Lawyers Association of Western New York, Peradotto served on the bar association's board of directors from 1993 to 1996. She is also past president of the Marshall Club, past treasurer of the Western New York Trial Lawyers Association, and a past director of the Women Lawyers of Western New York.
As chair of the bar association's young lawyers committee from 1990 to 1992, she supervised the Stop DWI program and the mock trial tournament program for high school students. She has also spoken to elementary school students about the importance of voting as part of the Kids Voting New York Program, which was launched as a pilot project in Western New York in 1996.
