Where the buffalo did not roam

Ironically, the dusty buffalo, which roamed most of North America in huge numbers before the arrival of the Europeans, never quite made it to Western New York. According to a researcher at the Buffalo Museum of Science, the buffalo was present everywhere in the United States east of the Sierra Nevada mountain range‹except the Great Lakes region, Florida, New Jersey and New England.
