Couple handled finances for Student Association

They honeymooned at the Summer Olympics in Atlanta following a "big UB wedding" July 27 in Hamburg, N.Y.

Jennifer (Bucklin) Cross, B.A. '92 & Ed.M. '94, and Michael Cross, B.A. '91 & Ed.M. '93, found romance as "back-to-back" treasurers of the Undergraduate Student Association, she in 1991-92, he in 1990-91.

Today, Jennifer helps freshmen adjust to campus life as coordinator of new student information referral services at the University of Michigan. She also coordinates the week-long "Welcome to Michigan" for new students in September. Michael is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in higher education at U-M, while serving as the school's NCAA compliance review director.

"I continue to apply my UB coursework in student development theory and counseling techniques, in particular. Just as important, however, was the practical experience I gained working in the Office of Student Life. It allowed me to use what I was learning in the classroom. It also prepared me-given the nature of that office-to be flexible and to respond quickly to

different situations."
