UB swimmers post top GPA in nation
The men's swimming team recently posted the top grade point average in the country for the second time in three years, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America has announced.
The Bulls, coached by Budd Termin, posted an overall grade point average of 3.36 in the Fall of 1995 to top second-place St. Louis University (3.34) and third-place Dartmouth (3.18).
"Since moving to Division I in 1991, I have been lucky to coach some of the most dedicated student-athletes in the country," said Termin. "What they have accomplished not only in the pool but in the classroom is a testament to their tremendous work ethic, and speaks well for the entire university."
Since upgrading to the Division I level five years ago, the Bulls have won four conference championships. UB saw a string of six straight conference championships snapped this season when they finished third in the Mid-Continent.
