Patrick Gerard Dempsey, B.S. 1990, of Brighton, Mass., has recently received a doctorate in industrial engineering, with a focus in industrial ergonomics, from Texas Technical University. He will be working at the Liberty Mutual Research Center for Safety and Health.

Anne Jenner Esse, B.F.A. 1990, is the art director in the creative department of ICE Inc., an advertising firm in Rochester, N.Y.

Ann Carol Goldberg, M.F.A. 1990 & B.A. 1964, is a photographer, digital artist and teacher of commercial photography and imaging at the Eastern Monroe Career Center in Fairport, N.Y.0 Her portfolio of ten photo-based digital images has been accepted into an exhibit sponsored by the Photo Imaging Education Association.

Shaheer H. Khan, Ph.D. 1990, was promoted to the position of Scientist III for Perkin Elmer, Applied Biosystems Division, in Forster City, Calif., and is coeditor of Modern Methods in Carbohydrate Synthesis.

James A. Wronecki, B.A. 1990, is studying for a master's degree in industrial design from the University of the Arts at Philadelphia.

Sid Alfasso, B.S. 1991, marketing representative for the New York State Lottery, lives in Tonawanda, N.Y. and aptly writes, "Hey, you never know."

Joseph Cohen, B.P.S. 1991, has joined Foit-Albert Associates, Architecture, Engineering and Surveying P.C., as a project architect at the firm's downtown Buffalo headquarters.

William C. Conrad, B.P.S. 1991, is an architectural project manager for Benderson Development Co. of Buffalo.

John R. Udicious, B.S. 1991, recently completed the basic surface warfare officer's course at the Surface Warfare Officer's School in Newport, R.I.

Alice K. Voll, M.S. 1991, of Eggertsville, N.Y., retired from the Visiting Nursing Association of Western New York and is "enjoying traveling, family, gardening and not working!"

Allan B. Wildstein, B.A. 1991, attended law school after graduating from UB and is now a practicing attorney and partner of Wildstein and Clifton in San Diego, Calif.

Scott A. Haima, B.S. 1992, of Lackawanna, N.Y., is the project accountant for the soon-to-open Marine Midland Arena, the new home of the NHL Buffalo Sabres.

Andrea L. Harris, Ph.D. 1992 & M.A. 1987, is an assistant professor of English and codirector of the women's studies program at Mansfield University, in Mansfield, Pa.

James M. Herzog, M.S. 1992 & B.S. 1986, of Buffalo, has been nominated to serve on the national professional advisory council of the American Board of Disability Analysts.

Jason E. Phillips, B.A. 1992, of Suffern, N.Y., was named Thomas Publishing Company's international circulation manager for the Thomas Register of American Manufacturers.

Joseph Sarkis, Ph.D. 1992, M.B.A. 1986 & B.S. 1985, has been promoted to associate professor of operations management at the University of Texas at Arlington.

Lisa M. Strozyk, B.A. 1992, is the site manager for UB's Bell Hall and Computing Center Public Computing Sites, provided for academic services by the department of Computing and Information Technology. She manages eighteen students who run and supervise the computer sites.

Scott Strozyk, B.S. 1992, is the director of new technology for UCA&L Upgrade Corporation in Buffalo. He manages a staff of developers and programmers who are currently working on rewriting the company's computer system.

Karen C. Sullivan, B.S. 1992, recently accepted a position as a senior consultant at KPMG Peat Marwick in Washington, D.C.

Dana B. Weiner, M.S.W. 1992, of White Plains, N.Y., is currently working as the program coordinator of a pediatric AIDS clinic, and will enter postgraduate school in the fall.

Patricia E. Carey, M.A. 1993 & B.A. 1991, was accepted into the UB doctoral program in American Studies. She writes that she is "looking forward to returning to the university on a regular basis."

Mary F. Dewey, M.S.W. 1993, is the first social worker to be employed in the law guardian unit of the Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo Inc.

Laurie A. Enright, Ed.M. 1993 & B.A. 1991, is the computer network administrator for Hiscock & Barclay LLP of Syracuse, N.Y. She is also dedicated to the rehabilitation of endangered birds of prey.

Steven Hayes, B.S. 1993, graduated from the G.E. manufacturing management program in 1993 and is a business analyst for G.E. Transportation Systems in Erie, Pa.

Margaret Mary Heldwein, B.S. 1993, is a master's student at SUNY at Stony Brook enrolled in a distance learning program for midwifery.

Joseph F. Kessler, B.S. 1993 & B.S. 1963, is working as an electrical designer at Trautman Associates of Buffalo.

Paulette A. Lombard, M.S.W. 1993, is participating in an emergency residence program called Youth Emergency Services, a consortium of five mental health agencies in Rochester, N.Y., designed to meet the needs of children in crisis.

Peter J. McVeigh, B.S. 1993, of Hauppauge, N.Y., recently earned his master's degree in environmental engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.

Matthew A. Pacella, M.S. 1993 & B.S. 1987, is a consulting medical physicist for Physics Services Inc. in Rochester, N.Y.

Michael Simpson, B.S. 1993, is currently studying for a degree in UB's Department of Media Study. He is employed by John V. Carr and Sons Customs Brokerage in Buffalo and also writes and records music in his home studio.

Erin Whitney, B.A. 1993, received a master's degree in special education in 1995 and is now a primary special education teacher for the Cairo, N.Y. elementary school system.

Alice M. Pacynski, M.S.W. 1994 & B.A. 1989, is a therapist and a psychiatric nurse at Community Concerns of Evans and Brent, a mental health facility in Derby, N.Y.

Gilbert Jude D. Sabusay, B.S. 1994, has settled into a new position as a design engineer for Neo-Ray Inc., a lighting fixture manufacturing firm in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Freda M. Tyson, B.S. 1994, is a tax auditor for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, Buffalo district office.

G. Grant Williams, B.S. 1994, is pursuing a doctorate in astrophysics at Clemson University in Clemson, S.C.

Daniel Boring, B.F.A. 1995, has been awarded an assistantship for his intended M.M. in performance at Ithaca College, where he will teach guitar beginning in the fall.

Sally J. Broad, J.D. 1995, M.S. 1995 & B.S. 1989, has joined Damon & Morey in Buffalo,where she practices in the litigation department, concentrating in medical malpractice defense and health-care law. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Attorneys.

Stephen Buechi, M.S. 1995 & B.S. 1993, of Hamburg, N.Y., is an environmental engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Michael A. Convertino, B.P.S. 1995, is involved with multiple international restaurant and hospitality projects located in Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and Lebanon, as an architect for the firm of Dembling & Dembling Architects in Albany, N.Y.

Stephanie Emhoff, B.S. 1995, of River Ridge, La., is a corporate employment coordinator for First Commerce Corporation, a bank holding company. She will be attending graduate school at the University of New Orleans.

Douglas Hambrecht, B.S. 1995, of Charlotte, N.C., is a field engineer and a project manager with Lee Construction Co.

Dennis Rigosu, B.P.S. 1995, of Albany, N.Y., is working on local commercial projects for Dembling & Dembling Architects. His responsibilities include design augmentation, preparation of contract documents and field observation during the construction phase.

Hassan A. Serhan, Ph.D. 1995 & M.S. 1992, formerly a research assistant professor in the UB Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, has joined AcroMed Corp. as a research and testing manager.

Michael Symans, Ph.D. 1995, M.S. 1993 & B.S. 1990, assistant professor in the civil engineering department at Washington State University in Pullman, specializes in earthquake engineering.

Sarah Symans, M.L.S. 1995, is working as a reference librarian in the Owen Science & Engineering Library at Washington State University in Pullman.
