Robert W. Constantine, M.B.A. 1980 & J.D. 1975, a partner in the Buffalo law firm of Damon & Morey, has been elected a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel-lawyers who have been recognized as outstanding practitioners in trust and estate matters.
Paul E. Forte, Ph.D. 1980, has been elected second vice president of Group Life Products, the business insurance sector of John Hancock Financial Services in Boston, Mass. He has held various positions with the company since 1982.
Robert L. Jacoby, M.S. 1980, of Clayton, Calif., was appointed manager of environmental conservation at Shell Oil Company's San Francisco refinery.
Gloria B. Miller, M.S.W. 1980, of Orchard Park, N.Y., is a part-time clinical assistant professor at UB's School of Social Work and operates a private practice in custody evaluation and adoption home study.
David A. Schlein, B.S. 1980, of Williamsville, N.Y., was appointed a partner of Lumsden & McCormick LLP, Certified Public Accountants, where he will be responsible for taxation issues, tax planning, scheduling and staff recruitment.
Kathy High, M.A. 1981, is a videomaker, writer, teacher and mixed media artist living and working in New York City. She has been named a curator of the 42nd Annual Robert Flaherty Seminar for Independent Video and Cinema, August 3-8 at Wells College in Aurora, N.Y. Currently working on a musical about human gene mapping, she also teaches at Princeton University's Visual Arts Program.
Donna K. Rhodey, B.S. 1981, was recently promoted to her current rank of Navy Captain, while serving at a U.S. Navy station in Spain.
Mark Ungerman, B.S. 1981, has been named a partner in the international law firm of Fulbright & Jaworski LLP, Washington, D.C., representing clients in intellectual property matters.
Lee DeVantier, B.S. 1982, moved to Seoul, Korea, where he teaches English as a second language while employed with Sunkyong Ltd. His duties include taking dictation from recordings so the lyrics can be examined by federal censors, reviewing and commenting on English language documents and writing a column about Korean pop music from the perspective of a "Westerner."
Chuck Mancuso, M.A. 1982 & M.A. 1978, is the author of Popular Music and the Underground Foundations of Jazz, Rock, Blues, Country, and Rock 1900-1950, which is available through the Burchfield-Penney Art Center at Buffalo State College. A member of the Buffalo State faculty since 1970, Mancuso has produced numerous jazz, folk, and film critics' festivals.
