Donald J. Donewirth, B.S. 1950, of Orchard Park, NY, who retired from Ferro Corp. in 1993, is district manager of the Service Corps of Retired Executives.

Robert L. Fierstein, B.A. 1950 & B.A. 1950, the author of If Only the World Could Be Made Out of Love, had his first autograph session in April at a Barnes & Noble store in Buffalo.

Edward Shanbrom, M.D. 1951, a medical researcher and inventor in Santa Ana, CA, received an honorary doctor of science degree from Allegheny College.

Eleanor Smith Wertz, B.S.N. 1954, an associate professor at the University of Mary, ND, was recently elected state president of the North Dakota Nursing Association.

Frank R. Bayger, J.D. 1955, has opened his own law firm in Buffalo and will handle the litigation of serious personal injury and wrongful death cases.

Warren E. Hoffman, Ph.D. 1955, a retiree, is now teaching general chemistry as an adjunct professor after taking a year off due to surgery.

Ralph K. Johnson, B.S. 1955, of Highland Heights, OH, is a senior applications engineer for the Bailey Controls Company in Wyckliffe.

Ronald E. Gustafson, B.S. 1956, recently returned from Warsaw, Poland, where he and his wife served as volunteers with the International Executive Service Corps.

Claude Barrow, B.A. 1957, of Rapid City, SD, led the Black Hills Council of the Boy Scouts of America to its third consecutive year as a National Quality Council.

Jerry Kozlowski, B.S. 1957, of Berlin, MD, embarked on a full-time woodworking career after 36 years of service with the U.S. Department of Defense.

Joanne Moore Schwertfager, Ed.B. 1958, retired from the Lewiston-Porter School System in Lewiston, NY, after 30 years of service as a computer coordinator. She has relocated to Sarasota, FL with her husband.

E. James Lane, B.A. 1959, was appointed president of SPX Corporation's OTC division. The division, headquartered in Owatonna, MN, designs and manufactures equipment for the repair and maintenance of motor vehicles.
