Working with our partners Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute, UB is fueling the creation of life sciences-based companies.

More than 60 companies have been created in the past four years through the transfer of technology from UB to the private sector. Many of these firms were launched in the UB Technology Incubator located near the North Campus. An incubator downtown will similarly enhance UB’s ability to transfer research to commercialization.

Expanding our Downtown Campus is pivotal to the future of Buffalo. UB and Kaleida Health are constructing a 10-story building that will house UB’s Center for Clinical and Translational Research, a UB biosciences incubator and Kaleida Health’s Global Vascular Institute, strengthening ties between the university and our region’s largest hospital network. UB is constructing a new home for its Educational Opportunity Center at 77 Goodell St. that will be connected to the UB Downtown Gateway. The university also is moving forward with plans to relocate the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in downtown Buffalo, where UB medical education, research, and clinical care will be aligned more effectively with regional hospitals and research partners.
